Can prediabetes be reversed permanently?

Prediabetes can be reversed through the dietary changes outlined here. However, it is important to understand that if someone eats a low carbohydrate diet and reverses their prediabetes but then begins eating carbohydrates again in the future, the prediabetes will return. They must eat a low carbohydrate diet lifelong in order to reverse prediabetes and keep it permanently reversed.

    I am pre diabetes have a a1c percentage of 6.1 l am 40 lbs over weight and 72 years old khan started eating low carbs in a week l have lost weight also l have started walking each day is it ok to eat meat once a day

    I got out of pre-diabetes and back into a normal range by cutting out 99% of my juices/gatorade (just water), cutting out white rice and limiting intake of things like jelly and syrup. I also stopped taking the elevator and always used the stairs.
